While the houses are two-storey, the ground floor includes a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, dining, and lounge areas, making them generally suitable for guests who do not require stair access. Please note there is a slight level change from the exterior concrete path to the entrances — approximately 30mm at the front entrance and 50–60mm at the rear.
Vale 194 is not suitable for wheelchair users due to limitations in bathroom layout, lack of disabilty grab handrails, doorway clearances, and carport widths, which do not allow for accessible vehicle entry or exit.

Can we book Vale 194 for a wedding or group celebration?
Yes. Vale 194 is a popular choice for wedding accommodation in McLaren Vale, as well as milestone celebrations with family and friends. While we don’t host events or ceremonies on site, our five self-contained houses can accommodate up to 30 guests, offering a stylish and comfortable base for your special weekend. Many guests head out to nearby venues for the ceremony, reception, or a long celebratory lunch, then return to Vale 194 for a peaceful night’s sleep and some well-earned comfort and privacy.
Each house includes its own private undercover outdoor area and dedicated carport parking. The main driveway is a shared space, so we simply ask all guests to be mindful of others staying on the property.
Do you provide linen and towels?
Yes. Each house includes:
- Minijumbuk wool quilts and pillows (made in South Australia)
- Dunlopillo pillows for extra comfort
- Sheets, pillow cases and quilt covers.
- Sheridan towels
- We also have a drying rack for towels in each of the upstairs bedrooms, as there is a shared bathroom upstairs. Makes it easy to keep track of your towel if you’re like me and like to use your own towel when sharing a holiday house.
- Spare blankets and pillows in every bedroom
- We don’t have beach towels on site, so recommend bringing one if you are visiting one of our beautiful beaches
All beds are made up before your arrival, so you can settle in straight away.

Yes — all houses offer very fast NBN fibre internet, suitable for streaming, working remotely, or keeping teens connected. Each house also includes a Smart TV in the living area and each bedroom, all with access to Netflix.

No – All of our king beds are a full size king bed, with a one-piece mattresses carefully chosen for quality and comfort. We’ve opted not to use split beds, as the gap between mattresses can impact sleep quality. We’ve selected top hotel quality Sealey Posturepedic beds made right here in South Australia.
Can I bring my pet or dog to Vale 194?
No. We love animals, but unfortunately we’re not set up to accommodate pets or dogs. To help maintain a clean, allergy-conscious environment for all guests — and because our grounds aren’t securely fenced — we’re unable to welcome pets on the property.
If you’re travelling with a dog, there are some lovely dog-friendly and pet-friendly stays in McLaren Vale that may suit you better. A quick search on platforms like Airbnb, Stayz, or the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre is always happy to assist with local recommendations.
Do you provide high chairs?
Yes, we have high chairs available in each house. They’re stored on the top shelf of the kitchen pantry, so they’re easy to access when needed
Do you provide porta cots?
No, we don’t provide cots, as we don’t have the space to store them between stays. However, if you’re travelling with a baby or toddler, Adelaide Baby Hire is a local option that some guests have used to hire cots, prams, and other equipment.
Do you provide a baby gate for the stairs?
No, we don’t provide a baby gate for the stairs, as the saftey gates do not work effectively with the style of staircase we have installed at Vale 194. If safety on stairs is a concern we suggest other single story accommodation options within McLaren Vale. The Visitor Centre can help with suggestions.

Do the houses include laundry facilities?
Yes — each house includes:

- Iron, ironing board (located upstairs due to storage options)

It’s best to book in advance for weekends and warmer months. The operators are both willing to drop the bikes to your door if you book ahead. And there are a few different options with different styles of E-bikes, pedal bikes and E-tuktuks (great for families).
Do you provide beach towels?
We don’t currently provide beach towels, so we recommend bringing your own if you’re planning a day trip to one of our beautiful nearby beaches like Port Willunga, Maslin Beach Moana, Aldinga, Silver Sands etc. Bath towels are provided for use within the house.
Is there on-site parking available at Vale 194?
Each house at Vale 194 has its own private carport, with space for one small vehicle under cover and another directly behind it. If your group is arriving with more cars, there’s usually ample parking available along the Main Street. We do kindly ask that extra vehicles aren’t parked in the shared driveway area, as it needs to stay clear for other guests coming and going.
